Intended Audience
Individuals who desire, or are required to be certified in Lifeguarding, CPR Pro for the Professional Rescuer, Basic First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, and (optional) Emergency Oxygen.

Prerequisites:
Candidates must be a minimum age of 16 to enter the course. An authorized instructor may allow a variance to individuals who are age 15 if the instructor has personal knowledge of the candidate’s maturity level or the student will be lifeguarding only in a multi-guard and directly supervised environment.
Candidates must pass water skills screening to validate swimming ability and endurance at a level that is appropriate for the in-water course work required of the candidate:
Swim 50 yards, head up to sight for a victim, without stopping
Swim 50 yards, head up to sight for a victim, with a rescue tube
Tread water for one (1) minute without use of the hands
Retrieve weighted object off the bottom (minimum 10 lbs. / 4.5 kg)

Certification Requirements:
Successfully complete all lifeguard courses.
Attend and successfully complete in-person training with the lifeguard Instructor.
Written Exam: 80% or better on the 60 question exam (10 additional questions for emergency oxygen module).
